Tax and “disability” update from Bendels Consulting

Further to Eugene Bendel’s presentation to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, he has made representations to Treasury regarding certain changes that Treasury are looking into making in the not too distant future and will begin phasing in over the next few years. These changes focus mainly on the conversion of medical deductions to medical tax credits. These suggested changes will not affect the current tax year nor the 2012 tax year, however, some of these changes could become affective from 1 March 2012 which means that it will have an effect on the 2013 tax year.

Bendels Consulting has been afforded the opportunity to attend a workshop held by Treasury in Pretoria on the 12th of August to discuss the above and more importantly, the affects it will have on all our clients. We are very thankful for this opportunity as it assists us in being proactive in being able to always give you the latest and most up to date information with regards to your current and future tax planning.

We have also been invited to give two private presentations for two different “disability” charitable organisations in Pretoria on the 20th and 21st of August. Due to this, we will be available that following week for anyone else who would like private consultations at our offices in Mandela Square .

The dates and times are as follows-

Monday 22nd August 8:00 to 20:00

Tuesday 23rd August 8:00 to 14:30

Wednesday 24th August 8:00 to 20:00

Thursday 25th August 8:00 to 11:30

Should anyone like to secure an appointment, please email me on trusson@bendelsconsulting.co.za or telephone me on 021 526 0444.
